Gem Restaurant

Yesterday we went to Gem restaurant to redeem our Everyday coupon.

The moment we walked into the restaurant we felt kind of awkward. Firstly, we were their first customers and secondly, the waiters look at us at one kind.

But overall it was still ok. At least the food doesn’t disappoint me like the few previous coupon which i redeem from other deal sites.

The food which i redeemed from the everyday coupon was chicken and fish meal set. Too bad, i did not take a photo for the chicken meal set.

I don’t think i will go there during weekdays again because it was hard to look for a parking at that area because it’s situated in the town and there are many offices there.

Sin Geylang Restaurant

We went to Sin Geylang restaurant for lunch yesterday.

I love the food there and definitely will go back there again to try out other dishes.

Though the food is nice but the portion is small. So the price is a bit expensive for me. Hopefully they can increase the portion or reduce the price!

Haven Delights Penang

Yesterday we went to Haven Delights for our lunch. We bought 2 groupon for this buffet. After having our lunch there, i feel that if you did not buy groupon, i don’t think the food worth the original price which is RM49.

The food are very salty which is not to our liking. The sushi doesn’t taste that good too.. Kind of disappointed with the food there. I have taken some photos as remembrance because i know i won’t be back for its buffet anymore.

I couldn’t remember the name of the food which i have eaten. I think the food which i order most are dishes with unagi. Maybe because i like to eat eel.

We had taken other dishes too which are not shown in here because i have forgotten to the photos. I still have to deal with Little Rascal while eating. I only remembered to take the photos near the end of the meal.

Swensens is DIRTY !

I really love to go to Swensens because the portion of the food is big and the price is reasonable for a western food restaurant.

So, yesterday i went to Swensens for our lunch before going for our photoshoot ( I will talk about the photoshoot in another blog ).

While waiting for our food, we saw a tiny little cockroach in the cutlery basket. I wanted to ask the waiter / supervisor to have a look but the clever cockroach ran away.

Of course, we dare not use the cutlery so ask the waiter/supervisor to change the cutlery for us. But, i am not sure whether he really did change the cutlery because he took the old one in and the next minute the new one arrive.

So, i am kind of disappointed with Swensens’s cleanliness, I think i will write a letter to Swensens so that they can be more alert and be more aware about their restaurant's cleanliness.

Disappointed with Pizza Hut

I really hate to go to pizza hut now. Especially pizza hut in Sunway Carnival and also Kulim, Kedah. Their services are really horrid. I really can’t stand their black face and their laziness. Argh.. they are damn damn lazy.

This will be another blacklisted restaurant from me. It’s because their customer service is real real bad. If they are so unhappy with their job, they may as well quit. Why show your black face?

I don’t understand why all these franchise restaurants have bad customer service attitude? No training before they start work? That’s bad isn’t it?

I think i will not go to any franchise restaurant for time being because i really can’t stand their attitudes. I think they lose one customer is not a problem to them. After all there other people who are willing to put up with their attitude.

Blacklisted Restaurants

There are few restaurants which i need to blacklist. They are blacklisted not because of their service but due to their food and price.
I have to blacklist TGIF because the food sucks and the price is exorbitant. It the worst western restaurant i have been to. The food is too salt. Even their kid's food are very salty too. Kids are not suppose to take so much salt. Don't they know? It's terribly thirsty and bloated after taking their food. Not only that, the price is too high for such low grade food. A plate of normal grilled lamb can up to RM35++ if i am not mistaken and some can up to RM40++. I don't see the reason why the price is being set so high for the food. The food quality and quantity does not match with the price at all. It's a waste of money eating there.

Next, i black list Manhattan Fish Market. They use too much flour for their fried food. I feel terribly bloated after eating there and also thirsty. I don't think fried food need to use that much of flour.

So from today onward, i am going to avoid these 2 restaurants.

600cc Food Sucks

I went to 600cc at gurney plaza yesterday. There is only one word to describe the food there. SUCKS !. Not only the food sucks, the price is exorbitant !. I really regretted eating there.

I don't understand why, there are still many people eating there even the food sucks.

I will definitely blacklist this 600cc stall !

Golden Triangle Restaurant

Last Friday we went to Golden Triangle for our dinner. This is the first time we went out for dinner after so many years of cooking at home. We opt for their all-you-can-eat promotion.

I think we have ordered around 9 - 10 dishes and i would say the food is quite nice. But their clear soup tomyam is really very spicy. You can feel your tongue is burning. Their seafood is not very fresh though especially their prawns. The fishy smell is there. And the size of the prawns are quite small. We also tried their famous Choo Chee fish. Deep fried fish laden with coconut curry gravy. I love this dish. The fish is fried until very crispy. It's nice eaten with white rice.

We also ordered mango salad which i love it alot. Sourish and a bit spicy. Their lemon spicy squid is much spicier than their clear soup tomyam.

I also love the toufu pancake and the yam cake. We also tried their pandan chicken. I would say quite tasty but i was too full that time so i didn't really eat it. The chicken meat which they use has a lot of fat wrapping on to the meat. You have to remove it before you can it else you wil find it very oily. As for dessert, we ordered their famous tham tim krop. It's very nice. i really love it. I should have ordered 2 bowls instead of one but i was too full that time that i couldn't even put anymore food in my mouth. I might throw up anytime.

If you are a big eater, u can opt for their all-you-can-eat promotion. If you are not, then better don't because the serving is quite big.

Palace De India.

I went to palace De india restaurant recently for lunch. We order nasi briyani with tandoori chicken. No picture is taken because i am not a camera person. I love the smell of the nasi briyani because they added butter at the bottom of the hot plate. The smell of the butter plus the nasi briyani really very aromatic. The price is RM30 for two person. We also ordered mutton but i don't really love it because they mutton taste is too strong for my liking.

I would recommend to those who want to try northen indian cuisine can come to this restaurant. The price is a bit on the steep side but overall the food is not disappointing. In fact, it's quite good for me.

E & O Buffet Lunch

We went to E & O buffet lunch not long ago. I was quite disappointed with the food there. They do have varieties of food but most of the food does not take good. It's too plain and tasteless to me. And most of the food is quite cold. As for the grilling section, they do have a lot of seafood but most of them are quite bland. The sauce given for dipping is not delicious. Their rice like plain rice & fried rice is hard and cold. Not soft, fluffy and warm at all..

I think i only like their cheese cake.

I think i have too much expectation for their buffet. I don't think i will go there for their buffet in near future.

Daorae Korean Restaurant

We went to this restaurant last week. The total damage that we need to pay for a lunch if RM122. We ordered 2 BBQ pork, 1 ginseng chicken soup and 1 bibim-bab. There is only 2 of us eating and we have over ordered. Other than that, there is a complimentary pancake for diners.

Overall, the food is delicious and the service is good compared to Che-Go Korean Restaurant. The waiters are very attentive towards the diners.

I'd recommend this restaurant for those who have not tried Korean food before.

Review: Feng Wei Restaurant

I went to a restaurant for lunch last Saturday. It was a long drive to the restaurant in penang. No, it's not because it's far but because it's hard to find. Riceball & I have a hard time finding the restaurant. We have tried to ask people around but none of them really can give me a clear direction.

To be more precise, the restaurant situated behind CITITEL hotel penang. So, if you know where is CITITEL, then you will know where is the restaurant.

I would say the food there is quite delicious. It's always fully booked during the night time. This is the second time i gone there. The food portion is quite big. I would say worth for money. But try not to order fried rice noodles there. It's because i was very thirsty after eating it. I think they might have put too much MSG into it. But for the rest of the dishes, the taste is delicious. I would prefer eat white rice with the dishes.

Review: Canton-I Restaurant

Gone to Canton-I restaurant last saturday at queensbay mall, Penang. It's a cantonese style restaurant. The price of the food is quite expensive for some of the items which is not worth it to me. The snacks which i love most there is their sui kow ( regardless dry / soup ) and their egg tarts. These are the must 0rder items for me.

The dishes that we ordered that day are:

Dish 1: Siu yok & char siew rice.
The meat for siu yok and char siew is very delicious. The meat is very well-grilled. Every layer of the siu yok is well defined. The top is crunchy, the middle section is fatty and the last layer is meaty. Yum...Yum... This is quite worth it for its price.

Dish 2: Double combination porridge.
I ordered fried pig intestines and meatball. The porridge is quite plain. But i love the texture of the porridge. I was not satisfied with the fried intestines and meatball. The amount of the fried intestines given was very little to me. Only a few pieces. And there is only 3 meatballs. Quite disappointed. Not worth it for the price. >RM11

Dish 3: carp fish balls porridge.
Satisfication level is so-so only. Same as dish 2. The amount of carp fish ball is only 4 only. Not worth it for money too. > RM11.

Conclusion, if you want to go on diet or love plain food, then porridge is for you. Else, order other food which is more worth the price.

Service wise, their waiters and waitresses are quite attentive. They are able to give prompt response to their customers.

Review: Chillis Restaurant

I went to Chillis Restaurant last Saturday at Gurney Plaza, Penang. I was disappointed with the food there. I was conned by the pictures in the menu. It's really for ILLUSTRATION PURPOSE ONLY. Whatever you order is totally different from the menu. What a disappointment...

Main dish no 1: Grilled Chicken Portobello.
Totally different from the image in the menu. In the menu, the chicken looked succulent and the slices of portobello mushroom looked big. Accorrding to the waiter, the portion is very big. I agreed the portion is big. Not because of the portobello mushroom or the chicken portion are big, but because the amount of mashed potatos which they gave is a lot. So once you have finished the mashed potatos, you would have felt very full and did not feel like eating the rest anymore.
The chicken is tasteless. The chicken breast meat which they gave me is badly grilled. Hard and dry. No special sauce for you to dip. You want dipping, use the tomato or chilli sauce given on the table. The slices of portobello mushroom is sooooo tiny. i think 5 times smaller than the picture shown.
Overall rate: 2/5. The 2 is for the mashed potatos because it's really delicious.

Main dish no 2: Lamb Shank.
No illustration in the menu. The portion is quite big. Same as above. The amount of mashed potatos is alot. The lamb shank is soft. Can be torn from its bone easily. A special sauce is given for you to pour over the lamb shank.
Overall rate: 4/5. I think is the best dish for me.

As for the service, well, not that friendly. The waiters are not attentive enough.

I don't think i will go there again in this short period of time.
